Kevin specialises in international trade and maritime law, with a focus on charterparty, carriage of goods, admiralty, and commodities disputes.

Kevin is qualified to practice law in Singapore and is an Accredited Specialist in Maritime and Shipping Law appointed by the Singapore Academy of Law. He advises on maritime disputes and represents clients in Singapore Court proceedings, institutional arbitrations (ICC /SIAC/HKIAC) and adhoc arbitrations (SCMA Rules, LMAA terms).

The issues that Kevin advises on include shipping delays resulting from COVID-19, demurrage, detention, sanctions on oil shipments, responsibility for port congestion, cargo contamination, breakdown of hull and machinery, shipment of dangerous goods under the IMDG code, emission control methods, and implementation of counter-measures against piracy and hijacking. He is experienced in dealing with disputes relating to the financial distress of players in the trade, shipping and offshore industry.

Additionally, Kevin advises on international trade disputes including off-specification and shortfall claims, price adjustments, goods rejection, delayed shipment, and non-conforming letters of credit.

Kevin also has a particular interest in digital transformation of the shipping industry.

Rachel is a Legal Director at Clasis LLC, Singapore. Rachel’s main area of practice is in civil and commercial disputes with a focus on infrastructure, engineering and construction related matters. She has acted for clients (including consultants and contractors) in domestic and international arbitrations as well as litigation at all levels of the Singapore Court. She is also familiar with adjudication under the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act, having represented clients in multi-million dollar adjudication proceedings and prepared articles and seminars on the latest amendments to the Act.

Jeremy is an Associate at Clasis LLC, Singapore. Jeremy represents and advises clients in infrastructure, engineering, and construction related disputes which arise from projects in Singapore and around the region.

He has represented developers, contractors, and construction professionals in international arbitrations under the SIAC, VIAC, ICC as well as ad-hoc rules, at all levels of the Singapore Courts, adjudications under the Building and Construction Security of Payment Act, and at mediations.

Jeremy also has experience representing and advising clients in a diverse range of matters. These include advising on schemes of arrangement, shareholder disputes, directors’ duties, liability for personal injury, and on criminal liability.

Kevin is a Senior Associate at Clasis LLC, Singapore. Kevin is an International Arbitration Associate dual-qualified to practice in both Singapore and England & Wales.

Kevin’s practice experience is in dispute resolution, with a particular focus on international arbitration and commercial litigation over a range of industries including hospitality & leisure, building & construction, and international trade. These disputes are often of a complex and multi-disciplinary nature, dealing with both procedural issues such as jurisdictional challenges, preliminary injunctive actions and expedited/bifurcated procedures, as well as substantive issues in law such as breach of contract, misrepresentation, fraud, negligence, and claims in equity relying on sophisticated trust instruments.

Clarissa is a Senior Associate in the Singapore office, specialising in complex and high-stakes commercial litigation and international arbitration.

Clarissa’s main area of practice is in litigation and international arbitration, with a focus on high value and complex commercial disputes. She has represented and acted for Fortune 500 companies, state-owned entities and ultra high net-worth individuals before the Singapore Courts and in international arbitrations under major institutional rules (such as the SIAC, UNCITRAL, HKIAC and KCAB Rules).

Clarissa has experience acting in a variety of disputes across a range of industries including contract, shareholders’ and joint venture disputes, company fraud, mismanagement and minority oppression claims, and international trade disputes. She has also appeared before the Singapore Courts to assist clients in the enforcement of arbitral awards, to set aside and/or challenge arbitral awards and in other arbitration-related litigation.

Clarissa was called to the Singapore Bar in 2019 and was one of its top candidates. She was placed on the Singapore Institute of Legal Education’s Commendation List for achieving double Distinctions at the 2018 Singapore Bar Examinations. Prior to joining Clyde & Co, Clarissa practised in a top-ranked disputes team at a Big Four local law firm.

Dawn is an Associate at Clasis LLC, Singapore. She is experienced in a wide variety of civil and commercial disputes with a focus on maritime, international trade and commodities related disputes.

Dawn has experience handling complex civil and commercial dispute matters, both in court and in arbitration proceedings. She has appeared before the Singapore High Court and the Singapore Court of Appeal as well as before the SIAC on multiple occasions.Aside from contentious disputes work, Dawn also has experience in non-contentious matters such as reviewing and advising on ship financing / ship sale and purchase agreements.

Thomas Ang is an Associate and member of Projects and Construction team at Clasis LLC since 2023.

Thomas has represented main contractors and subcontractors in international arbitrations under the SIAC, ICC as well as ad-hoc rules, at all levels of the Singapore Courts, adjudications under Singapore’s Building and Construction Security of Payment Act, and at mediations. Thomas also has experience representing and advising clients in other matters relating to shareholder disputes, directors’ duties, restructuring and insolvency and employment disputes.

Thomas has been an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore since 2019.

Vivan Leung was called to the Singapore bar in 2021 and is currently an Associate of firm’s Marine and International Trade team in Singapore. 

Vivian has experience handling commercial, civil and family disputes in court, with a focus on maritime, international trade and commodities related disputes. Besides contentious disputes work, Vivian also has experience in non-contentious matters. Vivian is proficient in both English and Cantonese, and is fluent in Mandarin.

Daniel Ling is an Associate in the Singapore office and has been practicing law in Singapore since 2020. His practice focuses on international arbitration, commercial litigation, corporate investigations and regulatory compliance. Daniel advises clients in corporate investigations into corruption, employee misconduct and fraud, as well as their interactions with law enforcement and regulatory bodies. Xi Ying is an Associate of the Marine and International Trade team in the Singapore office.

Xi Ying is an Associate of the Marine and International Trade team in the Singapore office, and regularly advises clients on disputes arising out of charterparties, contracts of carriage, facility agreements and contracts for the sale and purchase of a wide range of commodities.

Xi Ying has represented shipowners, cargo owners, insurers and financiers on both contentious and non-contentious matters. For contentious matters, she has represented clients in various complex disputes stretching from Singapore court proceedings to arbitrations administered by institutions such as SIAC, LMAA and HKIAC. Her non-contentious experience includes drafting and reviewing sale and purchase agreements for commodities and shares of vessel-owning companies.

Xi Ying regularly volunteers with the Law Society Pro Bono Services and has represented numerous applicants of the Criminal Legal Aid Scheme.

Xi Ying is fluent in English and Mandarin.
